Local Business SEO

Are you looking to get your business listed in local search results?

This article will help you use our Local Business SEO add-on to manage how your business appears on search engines.

Our Local Business SEO add-on outputs code know as Schema.org structured data markup that provides search engines with detailed information about your business.

Search engines then use this code to display rich results that may include information such as your address, phone and email contact information, opening hours, as well as other useful information.

This can be displayed in the side bar area of search results as a Knowledge Graph card (seen in the example to the right) or in other formats.

To get started, click on Local SEO in the All in One SEO menu. You may need to activate the Local SEO feature by clicking the Activate Local SEO button.

You should now see the Local SEO settings.

The first setting is Business Name. Enter the name of your business here.

The next setting is Business Image. You can upload an image, select an image from your Media Library, or paste in the URL for an image that represents your business such as a logo or photo of the outside or inside of your business premises.

Next is the Business Type setting. Select the most appropriate type from the drop down.

Next, enter the URLs for your About page and Contact page (if you have them) in the URLs fields.

Next, enter the primary address for your business in the Business Address fields.

Next, enter the primary email address, phone number and fax number (if you have them) in the Business Contact Info fields.

If you have a VAT number or Tax ID, you can enter them in the Business IDs fields.

Next, use the Price Indicator and Accepted Currencies drop downs to select the appropriate level for your prices and the currencies you accept. You can also list which payment methods you accept in the Accepted Payment Methods field.

Next, you can enter the list of areas you serve in the Area Served field.

Once you’ve completed the Business Info tab, click the Save Changes button at the top or bottom of the screen.

Now that you’ve completed the Business Info tab, click on the Opening Hours to set the days and times your business is open.

The first setting is the Show Opening Hours toggle, change this to No and click the Save Changes button if you don’t want to set any opening hours.

Next, you can use the Opening Hours toggles to select if your business is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and whether you want to use the 24 hour format when selecting opening and closing hours.

Next, you’ll see settings for each day of the week. Use the drop downs to select what time your business opens and closes each day. You can use the checkboxes to set if your business is open 24 hours or closed on a specific day.

Once you’ve completed the settings for each day of the week, click the Save Changes button at the top or bottom of the screen.

Congratulations! You’ve now configured the Local Business SEO add-on.

Available to customers on the Business License and above

Google Local Business cardLocal Business schema markup enables businesses to tell Google about their business, including their business name, address and phone number, opening hours and price range.

This information may be displayed as a Knowledge Graph card or business carousel as shown in the example to the right.

Local business information may be displayed when users search for businesses on Google search or Google Maps.

Search engines decide on a per search basis whether to display this information or not, and in which format. It's completely automated.

Below is the description for each of the settings in the Local Business SEO module.

Business Type

Select the most appropriate business type from this drop down.

Business Name

Enter the name of your business as you want it to show in Google.

Business Image

Upload an image, select an image from your Media Library, or paste in the URL for an image that represents your business such as a logo or photo of the outside or inside of your business premises.

Business Address

Enter the primary physical address for your business.

Business Telephone

Enter the primary phone number for your business including the country code, for example 1 for US, 44 for UK, etc. You do not need to prefix with a plus + symbol.

Price Range

Select the price range that best applies to your business.

Opening Days

Use the checkboxes to select which days your business is open.

Opening Time / Closing Time

Use the drop downs to select the time that your business opens and the time your business closes. For more information about Google Local Business schema, check out Google's documentation here.
