Do you wanted to add your site to Google Analytics so that you can see visitor behavior?
All in One SEO makes this really easy so you can see how well your content does.
Here we’ll show you how to add Google Analytics tracking to your site.
- Setting up Your Google Analytics Account
- Adding Your Google Analytics Tracking ID in All in One SEO
- Using All in One SEO With MonsterInsights
Setting up Your Google Analytics Account
You’ll need to have a Google account to use Google Analytics. This can be any type of Google account such as Gmail.
If this is for your business, you may want to think about having a separate Google account for your business, rather than using your personal account.
To get started, you’ll need to sign into Google Analytics (if you’re not already signed in).
Once you’ve signed in, you should see a Create account screen. You’ll need to enter an account name in the Account name field.
You’ll see different data sharing settings, make sure you check all the boxes, and then click Next.
Now, select the Web option and click Next.
Next, enter the name and URL for your website, and select the industry and time zone in the Property details form. Click the Create button when you’re done.
You’ll see a Terms of Service screen, make sure you check all the boxes, and then click I Accept.
You’ll now be taken to a screen that shows your Google Analytics Tracking ID. Select this Tracking ID with your mouse, right click on the selected text and choose Copy.
Adding Your Google Analytics Tracking ID in All in One SEO
First, log into your WordPress site and click on General Settings in the All in One SEO menu, and then click on the Webmaster Tools tab.
Now click on the Google Analytics block and paste the Tracking ID you copied into the Google Analytics ID field.
Congratulations! You’ve now added Google Analytics to your site so you can start tracking visitor behavior.
Using All in One SEO With MonsterInsights
All in One SEO has now deprecated all Google Analytics features and no further development, bug fixes or enhancements will be done to these features.
The reason for this is that we have a sister plugin, MonsterInsights, which we develop for integrating Google Analytics with WordPress. To maintain both codebases would be a duplication of effort.
As a result, you will see the following notice when you go to set up Google Analytics in All in One SEO:
If you’re an existing user of the Google Analytics feature in All in One SEO, you will see this notice:
We strongly encourage you to click on the Get Started or Install MonsterInsights button to set up and use MonsterInsights instead of All in One SEO.
MonsterInsights provides significantly more features that All in One SEO for tracking and displaying visitor data in Google Analytics and it supports the latest Google Analytics tracking codes which All in One SEO does not, nor will support.
MonsterInsights has a free version and a premium version and you can learn more about it at MonsterInsights.com.
