Create an OpenAI Account
Before you can generate titles and descriptions inside of AIOSEO, you’ll first need to create an OpenAI account and generate an API key with the following steps:
- First, head over to OpenAI and create a new account.
- Once your account is created, go to the API Keys page.
- Click on the Create new secret key button to generate your new key.
Add your API key to AIOSEO
Once you have generated your API key, you’ll need to enter it in All in One SEO. You’ll only need to do this once.
To do this, click on General Settings in the All in One SEO menu and go to the Advanced tab.
Scroll down until you see the OpenAI API Key field. Enter your API key copied from OpenAI’s API Keys page and click Save Changes.
Generating SEO Titles and Meta Descriptions
After adding your API key you’ll be presented with an option to begin generating titles and descriptions.
Each API request you use to generate titles and descriptions will be counted towards the API usage available on your account. AIOSEO will try to estimate the cost after each request.
Click on Generate Titles (or Descriptions) to get started.
You’ll also see the Use AI Generator icon to the right-hand side of the Post Title and Meta Description fields.
AIOSEO will send a request to OpenAI to generate title/description suggestions based off of your post content:
To use one of the suggested titles or descriptions, just click the (+) button at the end of each suggestion. AIOSEO will then automatically add it to your post. Save changes and you are good to go!
